care package

The idea for this post came to me one very hungover Sunday morning a few weeks ago as I stumbled around my friends flat trying to find painkillers, water...anything that would make the sledgehammer in my head stop!

Id like to say that this was a one off unfortunate result of a good night out...but no, this is an increasingly regular thing!

You see me and my friends are recent graduates, we work hard to prove ourselves to our new bosses for graduate starting salleries, we hanker after the recently deseased student lifestyle only now we have disposable income of our very own and a new found sence of indepdndance!

Weekends are short and time is of the essence and double night-out-ers are only inevitable! On a friday night when I go for the manchester train I am so excited to get there, meet my friends,drop my suitcase and get to the bar! ....on sunday evening we are broken people, surviving on about 6 hours sleep in 48, full to bursting with starchy, melted cheese cover hangover food, hangovers that feel like they will never go and the depressing knowledge that it will take us most of the next week to fully recover and catch up on sleep.

So with the festive season comming up I desided to make a 'care package' in an attempt to ease our self inflicted pain...

This is the list of essentials I have come up with so far;

1. A spare toothbrush
2.clean underwear
3.spare black tights
4. A comfy/clean outfit...leggins+jumper=cant go wrong
5. Diet coke!
6. Painkillers...I keep ibuprofen and paracetamol handy whenever possible
7. Heartburn/indigestion remedies
8. Sunglasses
9.comfy shoes
10. Fried food
11. Face wipes
12. Decent foundation (other make up recomended but risky move..steer clear of anything too near your delicate eyes)
13. A bobble and clips...hairbrush optional
14  And friends that know exactly what you are  going through, are going through the same thing and are there with you to wander the streets half awake in search of fried food whilst attempting to fill in each others memory gaps from the night before!

On days like this I should also point out that you should avoide the following;

1. Direct/bright sunlight
2. Public transport
3. Loud noises
4. Happy/non hungover people who have had a full 8 recomended hours of sleep
5. Shopping...no one makes good clothing choices when they are hungover, you tend to buy the things you feel you are missing to try and make your soul hurt less...examples include; anything baggy, fluffy, fury, three sizes to big...you get the idea.

Good luck xxx
