I like to think I'm a bit of a foodie...I love food, I really love cooking and (for the most part) I love trying new things!
There has been an ever increasing list of restaurants that me and/or my lovely boyfriend have been talking about going to for a while now. However So far we have been very un-organised and not managed to tick a single one off, and the list keeps growing!
So I thought it would be a really good idea to start writing these places down (I do love a good list!) This way we can tick each one off as we have been and there is no Saturday night/Sunday afternoon-what should we do, where should we eat panic!
The List:
- Yo Sushi...I have never had sushi before but I'm desperate to try it! Plus after a program i saw the other night about how ridiculously good it is for you i really really hope I like it!
- The Pink Elephant, Meltham- I am a massive curry fan! and I am completely obsessed with spicy food! I used to go to the Cinnamon lodge in Meltham a lot as my family live literally 2 minutes walk away, but I haven't been since it changed. I have heard nothing but good good things about it since and I am desperate to go back and stuff my face with amazing spicy curry! :)
-The Golden Cock- This traditional style pub is set in a really pretty little tiny village a not too far walk form my house. I went quite a few times with my parents before it shut down...its re-opened under new management now and I'm itching to go back. You can't beat a traditional Yorkshire pub lunch on a Sunday!
- Thai Sakon - a Thai restaurant, which considering my love of spice sounds like heaven! and I have been reliable informed that this restaurant is great for gluten free options! - Winning!
- MedOne- This is actually currently my favorite restaurant in Huddersfield, it is a small family owned and run Lebanese restaurant, there food is all home made, traditional and Amazing!. It reminds me of being on holiday! needless to say I have been here a lot! However my boyfriend hasn't and i feel like this needs to be rectified!....and soon!
- El Gatto Negro - iv spent so many night eating and drinking my way through this amazing menu, trying as much as I possibly can. This place won Gorden Ramsay's best tapas restaurant in the country, and with good reason! Can't put a foodie list of Huddersfield/west Yorkshire together and not include it, so excited to take the boyfriend here! :)
- Salvos, Headingly - this is the boys pick, I cant really say a lot about it as I have never been, but its another Ramsay winner, its Italian and it does gluten free pasta! So it sounds pretty amazing and im definitely excited to give it a go! :)
- Red- Leeds. Another one id never really heard of until recently, I'm pretty sure it a chain so I'm probably the only one who didn't have a clue...but apparently they serves huge amounts of 'man v's food' style BBQ meat and it has a huge stack of gluten free options on the menu so, Bring it on! :)
This list is not going to get ticked off quickly, we definitely don't earn enough to wine and dine every weekend. But we will work through it slowly! And il do my best to blog about each and every one! :)
I'm sure there will be a few more additions as time goes on and I remember even more! And
Any restaurant recommendations particularly for the west Yorkshire area are definitely more than welcome! :)
Xxx

- Prashad- Yet another Ramsay winner, I first went to this restaurant when it was tiny little take-away in Bradford, its now a lot bigger than that and has moved to Drighlington. It's really traditional Indian food, so not your average take-away. its also completely vegetarian, which has been met with disgust by the other half...but i think he should definitely keep an open mind for this amazing food! :)
