So I came clean earlier this week about being a pretty massive geek. Well I'm on a roll and I thought it was time for another confession. I am an even bigger history buff!

I absolutely love history. It was my best subject at school (I did much better in History than I ever did in art, but shhh!)
Yesterday was the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy and the start of the allied invasion against Hitler, which lead to us winning the 2nd world war. (so a bit of a big deal!)
In 2003 my parents took me on a cycling holiday with some family around Normandy. We visited most of the battle sites and cemeteries, and although I may have spent a lot of time complaining about how much pain a cycling holiday was and how all of my friends were spending their two weeks abroad lying on a beech. I can honestly say that that was one of the best and defiantly the most memorable holiday that I have been on.
Normandy is like a living museum, with all of the evidence of conflict and sacrifice still incredibly visible. I think it is something that everyone should experience.
I even managed to dig out some very old holiday snaps!
