So yeah.....I'm a pretty massive geek!, much to my boyfriend's complete dismay! But I'm not apologizing for it, it's just a fact that some of my very favourite things are incredibly geeky and I thought I would share them with you! :)
- Star Trek! Yes I'm a Trecky! (live long and prosper) This is totally my mum's fault, she grew up watching the original Captain Kirk/William Shatner versions and I grew up watching 'Next Generation' with her! Wesley Crusher was probably my first ever TV crush...(although that's pretty cringey, especially now I see him doing guest appearances on The Big Bang Theory) and I didn't choose to go to my University because Patrick Stuart (Captain John Luke Picard!) was the chancellor, but it was definitely a brilliant little bonus! and watching him turn the Christmas lights on in Huddersfield, as well as having a speech from him at my graduation were both definitely highlights! :)
There not as good, but for good measure it's also worth mentioning that I have also watched my fair share of deep space nine and far scape.
- The Lord Of The Rings! When I was very little my dad read me a very tatty little book with a dragon on the front, it had been his when he was a little boy and one of his favourite books. It was call The Hobbit, and I absolutely loved it. He told me that when I was older I should read a bigger book know as The Lord Of The Rings. Well by the time I was a bit bigger there wasn't so much point in reading this 'big book' as they decided to make it onto three rather long films. For three years in a row we went to see each of the films on Christmas eve. My dad was right, I really did love it!
Recently I may have made my poor, unsuspecting boyfriend sit through all three of the films...(extended versions) in one weekend. In my defence he had made me sit through nearly all 8 of the Harry Potter films previously! Anyways I don't think he hated them too much and he did manage to stay awake through all of them...unlike me, as usual.
-Star Wars. This is not even that geeky is it really? its just a classic! I haven't met a lot of people who haven't seen these films at least once, even if they didn't really like them...apart from my boyfriend.(awkward!)
-Monty Python- These guys aren't even that geeky are they? just seriously good! :)
and although I have never played either, I could also tell you exactly what war hammer or word of war craft are, in more detail than I would ever really care to admit ( I have a lot of male cousins)
I'll go now and sit quietly on my own watching episode after episode of game of thrones!
