A couple of weeks ago we had lot's of family at over. By the time it got to the Sunday night my mum decided that she had had enough of cooking and we went out for a curry instead.
I have never been to LaLa's before and honestly I have hared very mixed reviews, so I wasn't completely sure what to expect.
We had to book an early table for 6:30 as my sister had to leave early, I was worried that the place would be so quite and there would be a lack of atmosphere. But I shouldn't have worried. The huge room where the restaurant is based is a big old bank, full of marble, big chandeliers and booths and luckily lots of people! Even at half past six the place was busy and buzzing with people.
The food was lovely, there was so much choice and it was all with us in less than 20 minutes. I ordered a fish karahi and me and my sister shared a korma. This is how I usually judge an Indian restaurant and I was not disappointed, it was one of the nicest I have had. I made sure I tried my fare share of everything else and I loved it all!
The thing I think I loved most was the setting, the old bank was big and impressive, the decor was elegant- just the right amount of over the top and it is right on St Georges Square, In Huddersfield town center. For those who know Huddersfield (and those who don't) It's just opposite the train station, right in the town center and the views out of the very large windows were pretty impressive.
I would definitely recommend this place if you fancy a good curry and a bit of atmosphere, ideal if you just so happen to find yourself in Huddersfield and perfect for those who have just arrived or are just leaving as it is right opposite the train station.
Thank you for reading :)
