My WHOLE30 Diet, Days 4 to 10

I am now on day 11 of my WHOLE30 diet. I feel very settled into a new routine and way of eating already, it no longer feels like I am making sacrifices at meal times. I can't get over that fact that I am now eating 3 square, healthy meals a day for the fist time since I was about 10, without ever really feeling excessively hungry or like I am eating to excess.

My meals this week have mainly consisted of omelets, I try to change up the fillings by adding various different vegetables, my favorite so far being samphire! I have also had loads of home made soups which are great at dinner time as I find them so filling.

Before starting this process I was probably most daunted by my evening meals. I was worried that having to watch other people tuck into spaghetti or rice might make the temptation just too much. But in fact it hasn't really bothered me half as much as I thought it would.  I usually substitute these elements for a large leafy salad, a baked potato or my favorite sweet potato. I don't really find myself missing or craving any particular foods which again I didn't expect either . If I start to feel hungry I usually just grab a hand-full of nuts.

The hardest time I'v had so far on the WHOLE30 was Saturday night. I had the house to myself and Tom had just left to go skiing, so I was feeling a little bit vulnerable and lonely. There was a huge temptation to reach for a glass of wine (the one thing I am genuinely missing/craving a lot!) In the end I decided that I needed to re-enforce some positive thinking and instead of watching a film I found the Nextflix documentary 'fat, sick and nearly dead' and decided to watch that instead. It was definitely the right thing to do helped me to stay on track.

On Sunday I went for a long walk and my first proper bit of exercise in 2015. I was concerned that I would feel wreaked afterwards and absolutely starving but instead I felt full of energy and didn't get hungry at all. Its amazing how little I am thinking about eating food now at all, definitely not what I expected!.

So far so good as far as this diet goes, I think I am definitely becoming a huge convert! But I'l let you know in a week if i'm still feeling the same.

If you are doing the WHOLE30 or any other diet this January then I hope that it is is going well and good-luck!

Thank you for reading :)
