This week I have mainly been working and sleeping (I wish I was kidding) so instead of a WIWW post this week (which would have just been me in my PJ's) I decided to do a post about my new do instead!
Last Thursday night I decided it was time for a bit of a shake up where my hair was concerned. I don't know what it is about me,but whenever big changes are going on in my life I feel the need to change up my look a bit too! Possibly its something to do with a visual representation of how I feel about everything else changing around me, but who really knows!
I have been growing my hair for about two years now and for the first time ever I actually managed to stick to it and not get bored! In the end my hair was the longest it had ever been! and I really did love it ...but the ends were also quite damaged and a bit lack-luster, Not to mention it would take me hours and hours to dry it and/or style it and in the end I was just wearing it up all the time.
I had been um-ing and aah-ing over a big change for quite a long time before I actually decided to go for it. Not to mention a lengthy consultation with my hairdresser/sister about what would actually be possible/realistic on my hair.
In the end we opted for a slightly graduated bob, just below shoulder length. I had a full head of highlights and then after this we dyed my roots darker with an ashy brown and added more bleach to the ends. Colouring your hair, especially with bleach and twice in one sitting is definitely damaging and the only way my sister would do it is because we were going shorter and removing all of the most damaged hair! We plan to build up the colour and lighten it further over the next few months.
I'm not going to lie when I was sat in the chair with my long hair about to be chopped right off I did have a slight moment of panic, (I finally understand a little bit what all those girls on Americas next top model were crying about) But in the end it is just hair, it will grow back and in the grand scheme of things it isn't the end of the world (trust me I have had my fair share of seriously dodgy do's!)
I am so In love with my new hair...and how quick and easy it is to look after now! I'd definitely recommend mixing things up once in a while to anybody! :)
Thank you for reading ;)

One of my more disastrous do's!
