A Super Easy, Super Cute Show Stopper!

I have been wanting to blog about these little cuties for ages now (no joke - before Christmas!) But Christmas and then January diets kinda got in the way, oops!

Just before Christmas I made this cute little meringue kisses. I made pink rose water ones and Yellow orange blossoms ones. There were for the family over the festive period and they went down a storm!

I decided to make them again a couple of weeks ago for mothers day and used them as a topper for a baked vanilla cheesecake.

It almost feels a little bit like cheating as they are so simple to make and yet so effective and popular so I thought I would share my little How-To with you! :)

All you need to do is separate your egg white and measure out your sugar (quantities vary depending on how many you want to make) but the general rule is 2 parts egg white to one part sugar.

Begin whisking your egg whites...I use my kitchen aid for this as it makes it so much simpler, but you can use a normal whisky or a hand whisk,,,and build up some amazing biceps in the process!

Gradually add your sugar until it is all combined and your egg whist form stiff peaks. At this point divide your mixture and add your chosen flavorings (if any.)

Then get yourself a backing tray and line it with greece-proof paper. Take a piping bag and cut an appropriate sized whole in the bottom and attach your nozzle (The bigger the nozzle the bigger the meringue etc etc)

Then I take some gel food coloring and paint stripes down the inside of my piping bag and then fill up with mixture. This creates the cute little stripy patterns on your 'kisses'.

when you are all piped out, place your trays in the over at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes, to an hour. Then turn your oven off and leave the meringues for an hour or two, until completely dried out and crisp!

Serve or decorate however you wish! and let me know if you give it a go!

Thank you for reading ;)
