What I Have Learned - One Month In Business

Its been just over one month since we took over at the cafe and I thought id share some of what I have learned during my first month in business.

Everyone always says that its hard work but they never really go into detail about what that really entails. So i rhought i would wrote about what the  hard bits have been for me;

- the early mornings: My alarm is set for 5:30am 6 days a week! I spend most of my time feeling shattered and dreaming of my bed.

- its physically hard work, its manual labour! . I am on my feet all day. I have to constantly be moving arround and thinking on my feet. Not to mention lugging arround big barrels of oil or sacks of potatoes etc.

- people don't always like what your putting out there. When you spend all morning cooking your heart out and no-one orders your food or ypu put cheese on something and everyone asks you to take it off!  its pretty hard to take, but i try not to take it too personally.

-the hardest thing so far has been being conned into switching our energy suppliers to a more expensive supplier via a really dodge, barley legal phone conversation. Take my advice please!!! and agree to nothingn absolutely nothing! over the phone! Ever!! You really do not need that added stress (and potential legal battle) loombing over you when your trying to start up a business.

But honestly its also true what they say about it all being worth it! Iv got musles where I didn't even know you could get muscle's. Im fitter. Im toned and my mind feels more active. Sure early mornings are no fun but I have berocca and tea to help me through! :)

I know that everyday when I get up I am working for me and the harder I work the more I will achieve. It feels so amazing knowing thay my future really is in my hands. Thats a great bit of early morning motivation for sure!

In the next month we have to work oyt the best time for our re-furbishment and how to introduce our own ideas without alianating or upsetting our very loyal customer base. Its a mindfield and stressful but its also incredibly exciting.  I have to remind myself to walk before we can run so there will be another update in a month or so!

Thank you so much for reading :)
