Halloween has always been a big deal for me and I used to love getting all dressed up! When I was little my mum made me and my friend matching witches capes with our names written across them in glitter! We had them for years until they eventually fell to pieces.
After the I experimented with lots of different Halloween costumes, and was always seriously annoyed when they had to be covered up with a big coat to keep warm!
One year when I was about 7 we missed out on 'trick-or-treating' as we were driving back home from relatives in Newcastle. I struggled so much to comprehend that we were missing Halloween that year, and so heartbroken as we watched all the other little kids go from door to door in their costumes that I cried most of the 2.5 hour journey home!
Not a lot has changed and for the last few years I have been out and about or throwing my own Halloween parties! Unfortunately this year I had to bail on Halloween plans with friends for big work commitments, I was pretty gutted so T promised me that we would have a super cute Halloween night in, so we did!
I placed pumpkins all around the house, lit as many candles as I could and found a Halloween playlist on Spotify. Whilst T cooked us some lovely fillet steak and special salt and pepper chips which we had with lots of wine and beer.
After food we decided to take a walk to our local shop to stock up on Halloween chocolate and sweets. On the way back we walked through the graveyard and visit the old stocks at the end of our street 'Stocks Walk' just to make it extra spooky!
Later on we played a game of Mr and Mrs and watched slightly too scary ghost stories on Really before some of us had to go to bed!
It might not have been the big night out we had planned but it was still very lovely! and I even managed to make a tiny bit of effort with my costume :)
Thank you for reading :)
