sick days...

Turns out of you ignore something for long enough...it does not go away! Infact it gets much worse than it ever really needs to be!

I Hate hate hate being ill! Im pretty rubbish at it to be honest so I do my very very best to fight against it as much as I possibly can. I ignore symptoms i mask pain with painkillers and refuse to rest or bow down to illness at all...this can usually go on for a few weeks before finally I am forced to admit defeat and dragg my sorry ass off to the doctors or on a couple of occasions a and e!

Today was one of those days, I have been ignoring symptoms of an infection for about 3 weeks now and today I caved. I was given stricked instructions from a very determined and concerned boyfriend and mum that I was to call in sick, stay in bed and go to the doctors! Realising id been pretty stupid I decided to do as I was told and I had a sick day.

How to survive a sick day on your own;

1. Firstly make yourself a doctors appointment, if yours is anything like my doctors this is a huge battle in itself..but persevere!

2. Stay in your lovely comfy bed..or make an equally lovely comfy bed on the couch in front of the tv! ...find your favorite/the most bearable day time tv you can stand, or give up and watch netflix!

3. Drink loads and loads...im not sure why but people say you need to keep your fluids up..it seems pretty sensible so I stick to water, tea or if its a cold lots of vitamin c heavy oj.

If im really fluey I have a special drink I made up, its honey, lemon, fresh root ginger and chilli flakes with hot water...it makes me feel better anyways! :)



4. Find a cute and cuddly pet to snuggle with

5. Have a lovely hot bubble bath and listen to your favorite music to chill you out!

6. Find some comfy, clean clothes to wear...nice or at least clean clothes will make you feel a bit better.

if you have enough energy maybe a bit of makeup!?..sounds stupid/pointless I know but a friend of mine once said; when you are ill you should make the effort to dress up for yourself, just because you feel rubbish dosn't mean you have to look it. Its all phycological apparently so put your faith in the heeling powers of a decnt lipstick and smile! :)

7. I should probably say eat lots of lovely healthy food with lots of vitamins and minerals, however id be massivly lying if i said id managed to do that today as iv eaten shite lods of junk; inclding a packet of graze sweet popcorn, some nuts, two slices of home made chocolate cake, a crunchy and some chillie cheese on toast! it did make me feel better at the time...not so much now tho! Ooops :(

Beeing ill is rubbish, but I guess the sooner you embrace it and take a time out the sooner you can fix up and youl be back on your feet in no time at all! :) which I for one cannot weight for! 3 weeks of not having the energy to get myself to the gym...major withdraral of all those lovely indorfins right now!
