The Honley Show

So today I put my Lancashire roots to one side and fully embraced being a true Yorkshire lass at the Honley show!

The Honley show is an agricultural show that happens every year in the fields above Honley. Just like the Yorkshire show, but on smaller scale. Despite living less than 10 minutes from the show ground all my life this is actually the very first time I have been, but this year for the first time we decided to go, and I am so very glad we did.

We spent a slightly overcast, but still very warm day getting over excited over everything from pigs to bunny rabbits and some absolutely terrifying giant bulls!

We ate chips and mushy peas, drank cider and beer and munched on some incredibly expensive pick and mix. Lusted over land-rovers and fell in love with hundreds of dogs of all different breeds and sizes!

We rounded our day of with some sheep racing and my very favourite thing, show jumping! (and some of us got ice-cream) before retrieving the car from the middle of a field and making our way home to begin our preparations for the first England game of the world cup.

Best day ever!? .....maybe. I did absolutely love it and I don't ever plan of missing another one again! :)

The spooning pigs made my day! :)

How did you spend your Saturday?
