An Afternoon at the 20/20 Cricket

I have never really watched cricket before and I was a little bit (a lot) clueless. My family however happen to know a lot about cricket as my granddad played for his local team of Greenfield for a very very long time. My mum grew up with cricket and she gave me a very quick, pretty confusing crash course in the basics.

This sudden interest in the cricket came from an invitation I received to go and watch the 20/20 cricket at Headingley in Leeds for Tom's friends birthday.

What I wore: Topshop dress, Topshop heeled sandals, Asos bag.

We took a half day off work and after a very quick change set off to Leeds. The weather was absolutely perfect and we were really lucky. We spent our evening drinking cider in the sunshine and watching the Yorkshire Vikings play the Nottingham Outlaws.

After another quick pep talk from Tom and I got to grips with the game pretty quickly, and it was brilliant. I love trying new things and taking an interest in things I know nothing about. I find new experiences really exciting and I had a brilliant time at the cricket. I would definitely recommend 20/20 to a cricket first timer as it is a much more fast paced game and you will probably pick it up really quickly.

The Crowd were pretty entertaining too, 'Beer Snake!' :)

Unfortunately we lost out to Nottingham, due to a few pretty impressive 6's in the last couple of minutes, but we still had a great time and headed off for a few drinks and some food in Headingley before catching the last train home.

Thank you for reading
