Last Sunday we took a drive into the Yorkshire Dales for a walk around Malham. I love that there is so much beautiful countryside so close and for the day we pretended that we were on holiday. Not so difficult to do when the weather is so lovely, if not a little bit warm for walking.
We went on a walk which took us up Malham tarn and involved us climbing up a waterfall, it reminded me so much of the via ferratas in Italy (without the harnesses) and for a moment I got major holiday blues.
Because of this tiny obstical most people choose to avoid this route and it is such a shame as the view from the other side is so so lovely.
Our walk was just over 7 miles and brought us out at the top of Malham cove. Tom got super excited at this point as they filmed one of the scenes from Harry Potter here. After a photo stop were worked our way down and right to the pub.
We found a gorgeous pub in the center of Malham, the perfect place for a well deserved pint (of diet coke for some of us) and a big meal...I went for the duck salad, perfect on such a hot day and after lots of walking.
We had such a lovely day and it was so nice to get away, even if it was for just a few hours. Thoroughly exhausted, and as hard as I tried I couldn't stay awake on the way home.
What did you get up to this weekend?
Thank you for reading :)
