Yesterday was my birthday, which always makes me a little bit nostalgick. This time last year I was on holiday in Italy with my family. (Because my birthday is in August it is very rare that I have a birthday at home and have celebrated in different places and countries all over the world..that's a little bit cool I think.) But this year I was at home and decided to spend it with tom and my family in leeds.
Its no secret that I wasn't in the best place this time last year and I may have had a small break-down about the idea of turning 23. I sat on my bed with my parents and cried quite a lot. It wasn't so much that I was depressed about getting old, more that my life was falling apart just at the point that I though I would have everything pretty much figured out, and it felt like I was starting over from scratch.
I had one of those moments where you have two choices: Accept everything as it is and do nothing, or accept nothing as it is and do everything you can to change it.
The next morning was my 23rd birthday and I ran myself off a mountain and para-glided down. I have never looked back. (You can read all about that life changing holiday Here)
For the last year I have worked very hard every day to make sure that I never feel like I did back then and very happily my life in now completely different!
I have an absolutely amazing boyfriend and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have someone so nice and so perfect and he did everythibg possible to make this weekend super special and lovely! :)
This year was a much less extreme celebration but a very succesful one (i've barley given a thought that i am now 24..and 'really old' acording to tom!)
I went for a lovely meal with tom to the woodman on saturday night (where we had our first date) then spent yesterday eating and drinking in Leeds with my family. We went to the alchemist and worked our way through the crazy cockrails and then on to carluccios to eat a ridiculous ammount of italian food!.... next week the celebrating continues at Flamingo land with my much neglected but lovely friends!

i even had aperol spritz..my favorire drink from my italian holiday, we drank this by the jug full on my birthday last year so it has become my new birthday drink tradition! :)
now i just need to plan this years extreame experience!
