So I have been juicing for a while now, just over a month I think and as promised I thought I'd give you an update of my progress.
I am absolutely obsessed with juicing now, I use the juicer to make fresh juice ever single evening, ready for the next day at work. I make enough for breakfast and dinner and then have a proper evening meal at night.
I have tried out several recipes, mainly fruit based as I have been fining more interesting and tasty variations than with vegetables (you also do not get a lot of juice out of a vegetable!)
Here are some of my favorite recipes at the moment:
6 Granny smith apples
3 Mango's
6 Large oranges
2 Limes
1 Lemon
Or
6 Granny smith apples
10 Large Oranges
3 Lemons
a Generous sprinkle of cyan pepper
Or
2 Big bags of Carrots
1 Fresh Ginger Root
6 Granny Smith apples
2 Lemons
Or
3 Lemons
12 Granny smith apples
4 Sticks of celery
Or any combination of the above really! :)
The best bits I have found about juicing so far are:
-The juices have so much flavor that you really don't notice that all you are drinking is juice, in fact other food starts to taste quite bland in comparison.
-There is nothing in there but fresh fruit, and I can happily sip away all day, content in the knowledge that I am not eating any nasty preservatives or anything that may or may not have gluten in.
-I have so so much energy and I feel so so much more lively and awake, especially at work when it is easy to feel lethargic sat at a desk all day. I have noticed my attention span and concentration improve massively too.
- Everything is packed full of immune system boosting goodness, I started getting a cold a few weeks ago and after a day or so juicing I was feeling fighting fit again in no time at all.
- I haven't had a break out in a while and people have commented on the good condition of my skin and hair!
- I haven't seen dramatic weight loss results, mainly I think because I am not sticking to my juice diet in the evening or at weekends. Saying that I have probably lost about 5 pounds in the space of two or so weeks and I feel much lighter and less puffy.
-It's so quick to prepare, it takes me between 20 minutes to half an hour a night to have two fresh meals for the next day.
So far I am loving the juice diet! I will do another post in a few weeks (probably just before I go away) To see if I have noticed anything more!
In the mean time please let me know if you have tried or are thinking about trying a juicing diet and let me know your thoughts!
Thank you for reading :)
