It has taken me a long time to get round to writing this post as I have had a crazy busy week and this post is a little bit late!
Last weekend my friend from Scotland came to stay. She is relocating to Sheffield to do her PHD (because she is ridiculously clever!) I thought it only fair that I show her some of the best bits of Yorkshire.
We had lots to discuss so we ended up doing a sort of coffee shop crawl around Holmfirth.
We started at Emma's tea rooms which such a cute little tea house in an old weavers cottage. They also happen to do my favourite tea: tea pigs and I got my very favourite chilli chi in a cute little glass teapot, whilst Tom and Svenja had mint chocolate and gingerbread hot chocolate...which I can confirm were absolutely amazing ( I was allowed to taste test!)
Next stop was Longley's ice cream parlour, so that Tom could have some of their amazing ice cream, Svenja had a seriously cool afogato (ice-cream and espresso) and I went for a pretty boring cappuccino.
After a little wander around the shops we headed to the old bride inn and, all caffeine'd out we treated ourselves to a glass of proseco and sat outside in the cool October weather.
The last stop was soul kitchen where we all tucked into huge portions of american style food. Tom had a hot dog covered in chilli, with chips and salad whilst Svenja had a veggi burger, chips and salad and I went for a bacon and cheese burger (all burgers etc, can be made totally gluten free!) with sweet potato fries and salad.
One of the best bits was the ketchup. They make everything themselves from scratch and there hand made tomato ketchup is really really unique and yummy!
We all headed home early evening incredibly full after a really lovely day.
Thank you for reading :)
