Holmfirth Food And Drink Festival

There is absolutley nothing I love better than a good old food festival and I am super lucky that near where I live there are two pretty decent ones every year!

Back in August I bogged about the Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival. You can catch up on that post here!

And come September it is time to do it all over again in Holmfirth! This year was cool because it was their 10th anniversary!

Me and T headed down for about 11 on the Sunday to meet some friends. We were so keen that a couple of the stalls hadn't even opened yet, but luckily that gave us chance to have a good look around before deciding on what to have first!

The first stop was Blondie & Brownie, who had also been at Huddersfield, because you can't not buy three brownies when they are all gluten free!!

We then replenished out diminishing chilli stocks with some chilli oil form Yorkshire Drizzle and some hot and smoky popcorn from Amos & Tom's.

Finally the Ali Murrad curry stall was open and we opted for a fiery chicken tikka with rice before washing it down with some magic rock beer (for T) and a Pure North cider for me, from Gonzo bar.

Then it was a quick stop off at the crepe van for incredible lemon curd filled gluten free heaven!

Such an attractive eater..but no one cares when there are lemon curd creps!
We pottered about some more and bought ourselves a couple more Cath Kidstone mugs (to replace one I has clumsily smashed!) ...before bumping into my parents, sister and boyfriend and heading for a glass of wine and a much needed sit down at the old Bridge pub.

After a rest we were straight back out to explore more stalls and find more food, this time we went for a chickpea and potato curry and some pims before slowly getting a bit chilli in the evening sun. We wandered back to the car fat and full and happy with bags bursting full of even more treats!

I can't think of a better way to spend a sunday and part of me wishes that there was a food festival to go to every weekend. The other part of me is so grateful there isn't because I would be the size of an actual house!

Picnic with some of our goodies before bed!

Thank you for reading :)
