This weekend was a bit of an odd one really. You know that feeling you get on a Friday evening when you have had a great afternoon at work because everyone is hyper that's its Friday and then you get home and your like..hmm now what.
This weekend was one of those, oops I forgot to make any plans kinda weekends!
In the end it consisted of getting rather drunk, listening to Brian Adams and giving my room a much needed sort out! Saturday consisted of angrily walking round town not allowing myself to spend any more money and quietly hating the fact I was stuck in such a small, grim town! ...then getting home, realising I didn't feel amazing and spending the rest of the night being sick...lovely!
So Sunday required me to pull my finger out, get my arse in gear and do something! I decided a walk in the middle of no where would be perfect for blowing away the cobwebs of the previous nights mysterious illness!
I picked a little walk round a reservoirs just above Holmfirth, headphones in KT Tunstall on the iPod (my current music crush....I used to find her mega annoying, but now I love her!..hence I'm still obsessed with her old stuff) then it started to spit...then it started to really spit..then before I knew it I was right on top of the moors in a torrential downpour...make up all down my face, leggings completely soaked through and my 'shower proof' raincoat way less than substantial!
But you know what, the more it rained, the more I smiled! It was exhilarating and exciting in its misery...at one point I actually thought it was hailing, the rain drops were hitting my face so hard, but it was brilliant! I guess if you live in Yorkshire or England in general you have to get used to a bit of crappy weather, if you didn't you'd probably never leave your house!
And now I'm at home, I've had an amazingly long and very hot bubble bath, I've put my pj's on and there is a glass of wine in my hand...the perfect Sunday evening if you ask me
...weekend officially saved! :)
