Yesterday was my dad's Birthday! We had planned to go for Sunday lunch at a lovely little pub, but when my mum work up in the morning with a pretty horrific migraine we had to have a change of plan!
I got my dad to cancel our booking and I dashed off to the supermarket. I grabbed some last minute supplies. My sister was making a cake anyway so I knew that was sorted.
I got home and made a quick feast of salmon fish cakes with noodles and peanut butter sauce and prawns with chorizo and a big salad. (all recipes coming later!)
I threw some wine in the freezer, decorated the table and scattered it with party poppers and some balloons I had picked up at the supermarket. We quickly threw up some birthday party decorations that we had lying around and wallah! a make shift birthday party
My mum still wasn't feeling well enough to join us for tea but she appeared later for present opening and some birthday cake!
I'm glad we managed to make the most of a bad situation and we all had a really lovely night in the end! :) ...even magnum got involved!
