travel tips and nervous flyers.

So my holiday is very nearly here and I fly in the morning.  Unfortunatly I have never been a lover of flying and iv had a sinus infection all week which means im pretty much dreading the journey.

Iv thought of few tips i've learnt over the years...mainly watching my dad in airports (he travels a lot with work) that make things as hassle free as possible!

Asside from the essentials: passport, purse, euros, here are a few more things im planning on taking;

1. Slip on, comfortable shoes. Not just for standing in ques or running to gates, but ideal when you want to quickly and easily pop them off and then back on again in customs.

2. I wear as little/no jewlery, except for my pandora bracelet,(It was a gift from very special people so it stay safe on my wrist unless its bath time) Everything else goes in a box in my hand luggage so you don't need to faff around with it at customs....it also keeps it safe and sound just in case your bag gets lots! You can put it on in the departure lounge if you need/want to.

3. Unless im just dooing carry-on I dont take any make-up in my hand luggage, too much of a faff putting it all in those plastic bags. Im just taking a tiny bit of lipstick to make me look a bit more alive!

4. I mentioned i have a pretty nasty sinus infection at the moment, its not contagus so im not worried about passing it to people, but I am really worried that the cabin pressure really isn't going to help. I am taking antibiotics, painkillers and most importantly a sinus nasal spray...I feel sorry for the lucky person that gets to sit next to me on the plane.

5. Im taking a book to keep me busy/distracted and my ipod to make the flight go as quickly as possible...i have a bit of tinatus in my ears too so i will probably pick up some sweets In the airport  to stop my ears popping on take off/landing.

6. Iv got my sunglasses to get out as soon as we land..iv checked the forcast and it looks sunny!

When we were little me and my sister used to either wear our swimwear under our clothes or get my mum to pack it at the very top of our bags to minimise the number of minutes it would take us to to the pool! Iv not quite gone that far this time, but I have thought a lot about what il be wearing to travel in;

7. My outfit choice. Im wearing my comfiest pair of jeans. Iv then layered up my top half, as you never know how cold the journey to the airport or the aircon on the plain will be. I really feel the cold! Iv got a vest top, then a white shirt, a thin jumper and a blazer! Im also taking my amazing blanket scalf, to keep me warm and to snuggle up in on the plane.

I hope that when we get there Its hot enough to stuff all these layers in my bag and stay cool in a vest top and jeans until we get to the hotel.

What are your travel essentials?

Thank you for reading :)
