What I Eat In A Week- My One Week Food Diary

I have been told several times in my life that I have been told by various people for various reasons that it would be a good idea to keep a food diary...I confess I have never actually managed to keep up to date with one for more than a couple of days. But a the moment (in the run up to my holidays) I am trying my best to eat better or clean (to some extent)

So I thought I'd use my blog to do a little experiment and do a post about all the meals I eat in one week! This is not so much about weight loss. This is an attempt to be more aware of what I actually eat with the aim of making healthier/better food choices!

Monday:
Large bowl of low fat Greek Yogurt, honey and about 20 almonds
One toffee/chocolate filled sweet
2 Chips
3 Pints of water (roughly)
About a thousand cups of tea (7)
One berry herbal tea
For tea T decided to make me a lovely tea of home-made belly pork with five spice and star anise and egg fried rice. It was absolutely amazing!

Tuesday:
I snaked on nuts and some roasted gammon at work and about 10 cups of tea!
Then for tea my Grandma had given me three courgettes from her allotment so I made zuccini fritters and we had that with some quinoa and lettuce...and some nandoes hot sauce! :)

Wednesday:
I started out my day by snacking on some more nuts
Then for lunch I had some mushy peas!..(don't knock it till you have tried it they are delicious on their own and I am told quite good for you!)
We were dashing out to the cinema as soon as T was home from work so I had some Greek Yogurt with honey and Almonds..and three crackers and one left over zuccini fritter.
I then gorged on about half a bucket of sweet popcorn whilst we were watching the film!

Thursday:
At work I snacked on the usual mixed nuts and some seeds and dried cranberries...and the obligatory 10 cups of tea!.. I also had a cheecky blackcurrant/liquorice sweet.
By the time I got home I was pretty sleepy but snacked on some more Almonds and tea
For tea we had some cold meats, bread and crackers with proper butter, some quinoa. I also made some home-made garlic pizza bread with some left over pizza dough.
Tom picked up a bottle of red wine on his way home so we shared that with tea.

Friday:
At Work I ate some more mixed nuts over the morning and lots of tea.
Lunch was a small bowl of home-made chicken curry.
At home in the afternoon I had three gluten-free oat cakes and a small hand full of almonds...and more tea!
Then tea was more of the chicken curry (hair bikers diet recipe) and it was amazing! Finished off with some white rice and a bit of left over chickpea curry from the freezer.
Then we went to the pub for a couple of glasses of red wine :)

Saturday:
I was working again on Saturday morning so I snaked on the usual mixed nuts lots of tea  and an Americano...and one blackcurrant/Ribena sweet.
When I got home T was pretty starving so we headed to the shops to get something yummy for lunch..in the end the only thing I felt like was some more low-fat Greek yoghurt some almonds and honey..oh and a little taste of T's piri piri chicken soup!
Since it was Saturday afternoon I treated myself to a gluten-free Daura Beer! :)
For tea I got some home-made fried chicken out of the freezer and made some mac n cheese to go with it and grilled some mini corn on the cob..finishing the whole thing off with a bit of lettuce and a glass of white wine! :)

Sunday:
We started off our Sunday with some Gluten-Free mini pancakes and I had mine with some fat free Greek style yoghurt, almonds and honey...and a couple of cups of Yorkshire tea.
For lunch I had the rest of the pancakes left over from breakfast and a couple of pieces of tom's pasta (also gluten free)
Whilst decided what to have for tea I had a couple more cups of tea and then a gluten free Daura beer! :)
For tea we decided to use up some things we had in the cupboards so I made my carbonare recipe for us both, with salad and some olive oil. We finished off with a couple of glasses of white wine.
Oh and one scoop of 'maccies' vanilla Ice-cream to round off a nice Sunday and a busy week!

...And there is it! My food diary for one week! I have actually found this seriously helpful and have even noticed that I am making better food choices because I know I will have to write them down each night! I would seriously consider keep this up...and maybe even posting more form time to time!

Thank you for reading :)
